Volunteers Kimberly Howard and her sister, Queen Massaline, Sr. Community Engagement Coordinator, and Corey Johnson, Supervisor of Meter Operations, give Pathlight HOME’s Drop In Center a fresh coat of paint.

For the first quarterly Employee Volunteer Project of 2022, 30 employees and family members spent five hours on Feb. 5 sprucing up the Pathlight HOME Drop In Center in Orlando. Using shovels, rakes and their hands, volunteers beautified the center’s landscaping with plants and mulch. They also revitalized facility exteriors and interiors with fresh coats of paint and painted a Little Free Library OUC contributed.

The mission of Pathlight HOME is to change the lives of homeless and low-income individuals by providing affordable housing and economic opportunities. The nonprofit’s Drop In Center supports homeless people with mental health issues, providing them case management, employment services and such daily essentials as hot meals, showers and laundry.

Pathlight HOME is a designated charity of the 2022 OUCares Workplace Giving Campaign, “Lend a Helping Hand.” For the 2022 Executive Day of Giving campaign, which was held on Jan. 11, leadership team members handed out bags of personal care items to residents of Pathlight HOME’s Maxwell Garden apartments.
