On November 18, OUC joined the Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA), along with 11 Florida municipal electric utilities and Florida Renewable Partners, LLC, to break ground on the Florida Municipal Solar Project, a 223.5-megawatt solar farm. Once completed, this initiative will produce one of the largest municipal-backed solar farms in the nation. OUC will be the largest tenant of the project, purchasing 108.5 megawatts of the planned 223.5 megawatts, or enough for more than 20,000 residential customers.
