We know electric vehicles (EV) are part of our city’s sustainable future. That’s why in 2010, we began our initiative to create a robust network of EV charging stations to support the influx. Since that time, we’ve installed 165 public stations and created innovative programs to help our commercial customers install their own. On February 22, Clint Bullock, OUC General Manager & CEO, signed the first Charge-it contract with the Gateway Center in downtown Orlando to bring charging options to its clients.
Through the program, OUC owns, installs and maintains the station while the customer pays a monthly fee over a contracted period of time.
The other commercial option is called Own-It, where OUC designs, procures and installs the station, but the customer owns it outright.
“Once we understand the customer’s need, we take care of the rest,” said Derrick Williams,
OUC Account Representative for the Gateway Center. “Our strong reputation gives them
peace of mind that the process will be done quickly, done well, and done right.”
