More than 55 students from Orange and Osceola counties were recognized in April for their creative artwork and rain barrel designs that helped highlight water conservation through the Watts Savings and Water Color projects.
On April 9, students, teachers and principals from Osceola County gathered at Osceola Arts to honor the winners of the Watts Savings Project.

Now in its second year, Watts Savings Project inspires students to work with their art teachers to create meaningful artwork about energy conservation. Seven schools from the School District of Osceola participated. After schools narrowed hundreds of submissions to just 40, OUC employees selected their favorite 13 designs for the 2026 calendar.

On April 23, students, teachers and principals from Orange County Public Schools attended the Water Color Project Awards at Orlando Family Stage.
This year, the Water Color Project celebrated its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of encouraging students to use their creativity and artistic skills to support water conservation.

Students produced artwork for this year’s Water Color Project calendar and designed rain barrels, which collect rainwater and share conservation-themed messages. Thirteen elementary school students were honored for their calendar artwork, and 31 middle and high school students were honored for their rain barrel designs.
In attendance and offering remarks were Bullock, Aviles, Chief Customer & Marketing Officer Linda Ferrone, OUC Commissioner Dr. Bridget Williams, District 5 City Commissioner Shan Rose, and OCPS officials.
