Ever wondered if you qualify for an energy or water rebate from OUC? You’re in the right place.
If you own a single-family home, OUC offers these rebate programs to assist you in improving the efficiency of your property.
Energy Rebates
Efficiency Delivered®
This program provides up to $2,000 toward energy and water efficiency upgrades in your home. See the list of home improvements that qualify.
Here’s how it works: A conservation specialist from OUC will determine which home improvements could save you the most money. With your approval, he or she will arrange for a licensed contractor to do the work. You receive professional installation from a trusted source and save instantly with contributions from OUC.
You only pay for your share of the cost for the selected improvements, determined by your income. If you qualify, you can spread the payments over 12 months interest-free via your OUC bill.
Window Film or Solar Screens ($.55/sq. ft.)
Installing window film or a solar screen on a pre-existing home can help reflect heat on hot summer days. Your cooling system will run more efficiently.
ENERGY STAR Windows ($1.50/sq.ft.)
Energy-efficient windows can help minimize your heating, cooling, and lighting costs. They provide comfort and protect your valuables from harmful sun rays.
Ceiling Insulation Upgrade ($0.10/sq.ft.)
The attic is the easiest place to add insulation. It can help lower your energy costs and keep you comfortable through the seasons.
Heat Pump (From $90–$1,630)
Older central air conditioner units can be very costly to operate and maintain. New units are more efficient and use less energy while lowering your electric bill. Annual energy savings for a 15 Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating (SEER) or greater unit could be up to 30 percent when compared to a 12 SEER unit.
Duct Repair/Replacement (100 percent of cost, up to $100)
Duct leaks make heating and cooling systems work longer and harder to maintain comfort in a home. Properly sealed ducts will lower your energy bill and improve the efficiency and performance of your central heating and cooling systems.
A/C Proper Sizing w/ R-30 Attic Insulation ($90 when processed with qualified rebate)
If your air conditioner is the wrong size, then it is wasting energy and costing you money each month. Oversize air conditioners use unnecessary energy and air conditioners that are too small need to work overtime to keep your home comfortable.
Ask a licensed contractor to perform a Manual J calculation to determine what is optimal for your home. You may find that installing R-30 attic insulation, or another efficiency measure, can help you save on a smaller A/C unit and lower your energy costs.
ENERGY STAR Heat Pump Water Heater (100% of cost, up to $500)
Utilizing super-efficient technology, an ENERGY STAR Heat Pump Water Heater can cut water heating costs by more than half.
New Home Rebate Program
Planning to building your dream home from scratch? This program rewards you for making energy-smart choices during construction. Depending on the steps you take, you may not have to pay a utility bill for months!
Water Rebates
Florida Friendly Landscape and Irrigation (100% of cost, up to $200)
This program is designed to reduce potable irrigation water usage through the installation of low-volume irrigation systems and Florida Friendly plants. Reclaimed water does not qualify for this program.
Florida Water Star℠ Certification ($300 for single family homes, $100 per unit for multi-family homes)
Florida Water Star is a voluntary, points-based certification program that recognizes and encourages water use efficiency in single or multi-family homes.
Ultra Low-Flow Toilet ($50)
Toilets account for nearly 30 percent of an average home’s indoor water consumption — by far the main source of water use. Older, inefficient toilets can be a major source of wasted water.
Water Cistern ($0.02 per gallon up to $200)
Using a cistern to store and reuse rainwater reduces or eliminates storm water runoff. It conserves water and reduces your monthly irrigation water bill.
