Before the event concluded, Corey shared his son’s achievements in OUC’s Pre-Apprenticeship Program and reiterated his intention to hire a graduate from the program as an apprentice. Corey then took questions from the event’s attendees.
OUC’s Pre-Apprenticeship Program is one of many that advances the education pillar for OUC’s Empowerment Zone. Launched in 2019, the Empowerment Zone was founded to provide community support and encourage economic prosperity in the 32805 area, which has one of the highest disconnection rates in OUC service territory.
