Fireworks may be fun for the whole family, it’s never a good idea to light them around power lines. When celebrating, be sure you and your loved ones keep these firework safety tips in mind:
Look up! When scoping out the area to light your fireworks, look for an open area far away from power lines. Fireworks can cause power lines to catch fire. If there is an accident involving fireworks and a power line, leave the area immediately and call 9-1-1. 
Stay away from the big green box. Pad-mounted electrical equipment carries high voltages of electricity to power our homes. Never touch, sit or place objects on these green utility boxes. Never use pad-mounted electrical equipment as your fireworks’ launch pad.
Report downed-power lines. If you see any downed power lines, stay away and call 9-1-1 or OUC at 407-423-9018.
