OUC offers $500 rebate on energy-efficient heat pump water heater
OUC is offering a $500 rebate for customers interested in upgrading to an energy-efficient and long-lasting water heater.
The ENERGY STAR® Heat Pump Water Heater uses up to 70 percent less energy than a traditional water heater, providing customers the potential for significant cost savings.
The pump model is up to four times more efficient and typically last longer than its counterparts, and is programmed with advanced monitoring and control features.
Interested OUC customers should first determine if they need a new water heater. Signs it may be time for a replacement include: your current water heater leaks, produces discolored water, is more than 10 years old, or doesn’t produce enough hot water.
If it’s time for an upgrade, learn more about the different water heater options at energystar.gov. Once you find the size and model that is right for your water-heating needs, ensure you have the necessary materials for installation or hire a professional to assist. OUC’s Preferred Contractor Network provides a readily available list of qualified repair and service companies.
Submit your rebate application at myouc.com and provide the following documents: The contractor and/or retailer’s invoice and proof of ENERGY STAR® qualification. Invoices must include the system model number; if the receipt does not include the model number, submit a copy of the retailer’s item description that can be matched to proof of purchase. All receipts and invoices must be dated and submitted within six months of the date of purchase.
Once your application has been submitted, reviewed and approved by one of our conservation support specialists, you will receive an email notification. The rebate will be paid as a credit on your bill. This rebate is not available for OUC water-only customers.
