Manuel Mena joined OUC—The Reliable One in 2000 as a meter reader and later became a meter specialist. In 2015 he moved to the OUC’s Sustainability team as Conservation Specialist, his current position.
As a Conservation Specialist, Mena performs residential energy and water audits, and he conducts site visits at homes and businesses with possible water leaks. Mena’s objective is to help customers use less electricity and water and make them aware of OUC’s rebate programs. While he was a meter reader and specialist, he earned a reputation for finding meters hidden from plain sight. Mena is credited with mapping the locations of water meters at Orlando International Airport, and he has an uncanny memory for the precise locations of meters scattered throughout OUC’s service territory. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Mena enjoys traveling and visiting museums with his family and barbecuing on weekends.
