On Monday, August 5, OUC–The Reliable One deployed two line technicians and a line truck in response to the City of Williston’s request for help with power restoration following Hurricane Debby’s arrival. The crew returned Monday evening.
Approximately 130 of Williston’s 1,462 customers were without power due to Hurricane Debby. The city’s line truck was out of service and neighboring municipal utilities Gainesville Regional Utilities and Ocala Electric Utility were still restoring power to their own customers.
The call for mutual aid from OUC was coordinated through the Florida Municipal Electric Association.
The OUC team who traveled to Williston to assist included:
- Brian Barnett – Lead Line Technician
- Zachary Colgan – Line Technician II
