Dave Mayer, Conservation Specialist, is the son of two teachers so he’s seen how education can positively influence someone’s life. His passion for learning has been translated into educating OUC customers about energy and water conservation through OUC’s services.

Typical Day
Mayer starts each day at his Gardenia office but quickly rushes into the field to complete conservation audits for business and residential customers. “A typical day includes conducting four residential audits” he said. “These consist of reviewing customer accounts, discussing their concerns, analyzing consumption, and completing a walkthrough at their home or business.” Then he provides recommendations on ways customers can be more energy efficient and recommends different services OUC offers.

Favorite Thing About OUC
“One reason why I came to OUC was because we’re recognized as a family-friendly company,” he explained. With two boys, William and Joseph, Mayer wanted to spend his weekends enjoying quality family time. “I’m proud to work for OUC, I hope to finish my career here and become an ‘OUC Lifer‘’’ he elaborated.

Proudest OUC Moment
“As a conservation specialist, I’m an extension of customer service. Once an audit is completed, I’m the point of contact for every person I visit. I love reading the emails and notes customers send, and seeing how much money the program helps them save. It’s rewarding knowing you’ve helped someone” said Mayer.

Mayer holds a bachelor’s in business administration with a specialization in marketing, and minor in management and sales in agribusiness from the University of Florida.
