OUC Brings Summer Fun and School Supplies to Local Kids

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, a group of 75 OUC employees and family members gathered to fill 1,000 backpacks with Back to School Kits and assemble 1,000 Summer Packs for local students. The volunteer activity took place in OUC’s Pershing Operations Center.

The kits include notebooks, pencils, scissors and other supplies for the upcoming school year and will be given to Orange and Osceola county students who attend Florida Virtual School, which is a statewide public school district offering more than 200 courses to K – 12 students.

The Summer Packs include fun items for summer break like bouncy balls, bubbles and chalk. OUC’s Community Engagement team delivered the packs to area community centers for distribution, including six in the City of Orlando (one per City Commission District), one in Orange County and one in St. Cloud.
