In celebration of Earth Month, a group of 39 OUC employees and their family members took part in an Employee Volunteer Project on April 13.
Joining the crew in the cleanup of Eagle Nest Park in MetroWest were representatives from Keep Orlando Beautiful and from Orlando City Soccer Club, including the club’s mascot, the lion Kingston.

The group, which included Britta Gross, OUC Commissioner, Clint Bullock, OUC General Manager & CEO, Attila Mistzi, Chief Operating Officer, and Jenise Osani, Vice President of Marketing & New Products, scoured the park’s wetlands, lakeshore, ditches, drainage pipes and more for garbage and refuse.
In all, they, along with other volunteers, collected more than 300 pounds of trash, according to Keep Orlando Beautiful.

The volunteers also marked storm drains with plaques reminding park users that all drains lead to local waterways, which emphasizes the importance of not dumping trash or other materials into them. When not cleaning up, the group built birdhouses and participated in an educational nature walk given by Keep Orlando Beautiful.
